About The Book
In Long Dark Summer: Catt Tales, Ella Kay Hayden delivers a touching, coming-of-age story set in 1969. When 14-year-old Claire Catt loses her baby brother, Levi, everything changes. As her parents are overwhelmed by grief, Claire takes on the role of caregiver and peacemaker, trying to hold her fractured family together. She plants the family’s garden, hoping the simple act of nurturing life will help them find healing and connection again. But as Claire faces the weight of loss, she begins to realize that grief is like a shadow she couldn't shake easily and not everyone heals the same way.
This emotional young adult novel is a beautifully written story of love, loss, and holding on through hardship that will linger in your heart long after the last page.
What We Do
The sun still rises, even after the darkest night
